06/22/09: Is it a family affair? Yes. The Thurman family (Daniel & Donnie Thurman) won it for the third time this season! From not winning it last year to win it 3 times within the first 10 tournaments out of a single season is just fantastic. And this is not even the period that they are normally hot yet either!!! There are 8 more tournaments to go. How many more can they win before the season is over? It's anyone's guess. It's been awhile since a team win 3 in a single season. Many many teams have been fishing for years (many over 10 years) and still have not won once. The guys definitely got hot hands. They brought in a 9.82 lbs sack to win. This is the second time this year that a less than 10 lbs sack won the Monday night. Yes, it was apparently tough for many. The team also won the most sought after side-pot as well. Super job guys. Congratulations. You are definitely one of the few teams to beat for sure. The top spot is still very much up for grab for many teams.
The second family team which won big bass was the team of Chad & Dwight Woodall. They brought in a 7.98 lbs sack. And one of the fish was a nice 4.44 lbs large mouth. This also helped them won fifth place. Congratulations guys.
As you may have noticed, the suck line starts right below 25th place. Don't worry. With point system you can actually jump up a lot quicker than weight system. You just have to finish high. That's all. lol Good luck to all.

NOTE: The Georgia DNR thanks all who participated in the online survey regarding future management direction for Allatoona's spotted bass fishery. The online survey will help DNR assess angler wishes for the type of spotted bass fishery they would like to see at Lake Allatoona in the future. The survey will also gauge angler support for certain types of regulatory changes. Keep in mind, DNR is in the information gathering stages of developing a management plan. There will be no regulation changes made at this time in the process. |
