06/29/09:Last week first place was less than 10 lbs. How about this week? There were 6 teams with over 10 lbs sack! And 9.08 lbs sack didn’t even get in the money. And, there’s only 15 limits – the lowest so far. But, the average weight per fish is the highest so far – 1.53 lbs/fish! Go figure. When it was all said and done, the team of Tom Kazmerski & Joe Woods came out on top with a 13.01 lbs sack. Their limit was anchored by a 5.14 lbs big bass which helped them won the Jackpot (win first place, big bass, and side-pot all at once). On top of that, this is their second win this season. Impressive indeed. Super duper job guys. Congratulations.
And we’ve been watching the only team that had a chance to have a perfect batting average this season (having a limit of fish in every tournament). The team of Kevin Thornton & Kevin Thornton Jr. Unfortunately the tough night put a stop to their streak. They came in with a sack of 3 fish instead of 5 this time. That’s a bummer. But congratulations to them for having holding it up for this long on the old Dead Sea. Very few could do that on this most challenging lake.
ATTENTION: Remember, there will be no regular Monday night tournament. BUT, for many who can’t stand going through a week without fishing tournament on Monday, there will be a NO POINTS tourney on Monday July 6th out of Gate wood ramp from 7-11pm 40.00 per boat with optional 10.00 side pot with 100% pay back. All Monday night rules applies. Billy Henson will be the tournament director. Be there if you start having any sign of addiction withdrawal or not!
And, have a safe, fun, and great July 4th holiday. Peace.
