Allatoona Team Tournament

Monday Night
May 5, 2003.

Yep, the Monday Night tournament has begun!  Last Monday night was one of the worst weather ever.  But much more teams showed up than we expected on such a night.  There were real tornados threat, unrelenting rain, variable winds, constant lightening, gazillian of logs above and right under the water surface, absolutely no pleasure boats and PWC, and even animals took cover the whole night.  So, what did these die hard, dedicated, bass addicts, hardcore fishermen do?  They fished the tournament in the middle of all of these!  Of course.  They were very brave (i.e. crazy)!

All, went rather well.  Everyone was safe and sound but wet.  Make sure you read and understand all the rules.  Despite all the fuzz from mother nature, the guys caught lots of fish.  One team would have won the first place BUT because of a dead fish they had, they lost half a pound and that cost them the victory.  Many good bass were caught.  The biggest of the night was the 4.75 pounder beauty below.

The big bass winners, Jeremy Govert and Bob Haldeman, with the 4.75 lbs spot beauty.  Nice catch guys.  Congratulations.

The crazy directors had to register the teams in their truck 'cause of the relentless rain.

And, yes, they showed up to register!

The conspiracy after the registration.

And more team were rolling in.

And some couldn't wait to get started.

At the 11PM weigh-in.  The rain and the bad weather had never stop.  And that didn't stop these (crazy) guys.

The last bag to weigh in.

Here's the big bass and the guy who caught it, Bob Haldeman.

Not only this team managed to catch some Hybrids during the tournament and got lucky and won it, but they also won the prestigious $5 side-bet with the long time rival, the 1 Mega watts audible director (seen here not wanting to let go of the $5)!
