6/14/10: High temperatures kept fishing tough again this week for a lot of teams.   Water temperatures reaching 90, and a flurry of schooling white fish, made catching bass a real chore!   Just like every week though, someone will catch them!

After 4 hours of sweating it out, the team of Daniel & Donnie Thurman brought in a solid sack of fish to take home first.   With a total weight of 13.49, they beat second place by over 4 pounds!   Very impressive guys!

Last night big fish honors went to the team of Lonnie Coffin & Sonny Galloway.   They brought in a nice 4.72 Allatoona bass.   Congrats on a solid fish, and a nice payday!

With this tournament the Thurmans are pulling away from the number 2 team in the overall standings.   With almost 120 pounds of fish caught this year, they are really having an impressive season!

We are now halfway into the season. There are 2 teams that managed to reach 100 lbs mark - the Thurmans (who reached it since last week and continue their domination this week with their second win this season) and The Pepper and Salt team. Great performane guys. Also, there's only one possible team left that's capable of having the perfect batting average - the team of Kevin Bearden & David Owens. Give them support guys. It's no small feat to get that done. One other important thing, please try your best to keep your fish alive and well. Share your best practices with others anglers on how to do that. It's hot & damn hot. There bound to be some fish die but it can be minimized with a little extra effort. Unfortunately for 2 of the teams last week, they got disqualified because they had more than one fish died at weigh-in (see the RULES). One effective way we've seen done is to freeze water in a cople of old milk or big coke containers and put them in the live well (one at a time). That will definitely help for the 4 hours tourney. Do your best guys. Its a shame to see fish die. We can actually help it.
